Start a Pirate Radio Station with a Raspberry Pi and a Single Wire

Share

Ever wanted to start your own pirate radio station to broadcast your tunes over FM? It’s handy for more than just underground college radio, and Make shows how you can do it with just a Raspberry Pi and a single piece of wire.

An FM transmitter is handy for all kinds of things. With it, you can broadcast to pretty much any device in your house or to other people nearby at an event. The process is pretty simple and takes about an hour to complete. You’ll make a simple FM transmitter from a wire and make a disk image for the Raspberry Pi. Then, you’ll simply add your favorite songs to the Pi and you’re all set. Head over to Make for the full guide.

Clip Clothespins to Wire Clothes Hangers to Hold Pants and More

Share

If you need to hang up some clothes that won’t rest properly on a normal clothes hanger, clipping on a few clothespins can get the job done.

Obviously, there are clothes hangers with clips built in, but if you don’t have any, or just don’t want to rearrange your closet, this is an easy upgrade for a basic wire hanger. Just clip a few clothespins onto the bottom wire so it goes through the hole, and then clip on the garments. It’s incredibly obvious in hindsight, but the thought had never occurred to me before. It’s perfect for wrinkle-prone pants, tank tops, dresses, skirts, and more. Check out the source link for some more great uses for the ever-versatile clothespin.
