The Australian government is still hating on wind and solar power

The Australian government has taken its disdain for solar and wind energy to a whole new level.

On Saturday, reports emerged that the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), a government-created organisation that invests in renewable energy, would be banned from putting new funds into wind power.

Not long after, green energy supporters and investors were dismayed to find the government’s ban also extended to household and small-scale solar energy.

The directive prohibiting investment by the CEFC’s A$ 10 billion fund in these forms of solar energy would affect projects like rooftop solar panels on domestic premises, Fairfax Media reported. Read more…
