The Simpsons Tapped Out Christmas

Electronic Arts has launched the newest content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out on mobile, bringing a new Christmas event to players.

This event begins with Homer and Ned competing to have the best Christmas decorations on their homes, and introduces new Christmas ‘skins’ for these buildings. From there, Merrymakers will appear around town to celebrate the season, and players can tap on them to receive event currency. As players complete event quests, they’ll unlock new Christmas skins for additional buildings, like the First Church of Springfield, as an example.

As players collect event currency, they’ll unlock new prizes for their town, including the Springfield Orphanage and Virgil’s Cabin buildings, among other items. In addition to earning currency from Merrymakers, users can send their characters to complete specific jobs to earn extra currency.

As part of this event, players will build four new attractions in their town, starting with the ‘Best Snowman Ever.’ Additional attractions include a Gingerbread Mansion, Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck. This Christmas event is split into three timed acts, with the Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck being part of Act Two.

Elsewhere, players can complete new weekly challenges by sending characters on specific jobs or tapping on Merrymakers, as examples. New challenges are unlocked each week.

This event’s social feature sees players drop off presents in their friends’ towns while choosing ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’ to determine whether they’ll share some of their contents with friends, or keep them all for themselves. These presents contain crafting materials, which can be used to create additional items, including decorations and buildings.

Finally, the game’s store has been updated with themed items, including premium buildings like the Springfield Animal Shelter and the Duff Center Arena, as well as premium Christmas themes for additional buildings. Users can also purchase some decorations using the game’s free currency.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. The Christmas event will be available for the next 23 days.

EA Mobile has announced the latest content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out on mobile devices. Focused on Sideshow Bob and the Terwilliger Clan, the update will sees players interacting with a new character: Cecil, Sideshow Bob’s brother.

In the event, Cecil has supposedly returned to Springfield to make amends for past crimes. In order to earn the town’s trust, he brings the Monsarno Research building to town, allowing users to genetically modify Springfield’s food for increased resource production.

This event has multiple stages, and will see players collecting resources in bulk by completing Cecil’s timed tasks and the event’s overall quests. As players send specific characters to complete jobs, they’ll earn currencies like spades and corn. Items like corn are used to craft new prizes, including a Cane Field, Springfield Farmers Market and Sani-John Smokehouse.

The first prize is a Monsarno Founder Statue, followed by items like the Old Simpson Farm, a Pet Mutant Plant and bulk resources. Additional prizes will be added to the event in 13 days.

Finally, players can spend some of their resources on upgrades for the Monsarno Research building. Doing so unlocks new jobs for specific characters, and opens up the possibility to earn even more resources over time. This entire event ends in 41 days.
