Reports: Facebook’s News App, Notify, to Launch Next Week

Facebook’s standalone news app, Notify, could launch as soon as next week.

A report in Financial Times notes that the app — which will have content from The Washington Post, CBS and Vogue, among other publishers — will alert users to breaking news stories.

Financial Times notes that the app is moving forward after positive feedback from publishers about Facebook’s Instant Articles product.

Facebook has been testing Notify among a small group of users, but the official app launch could come next week. Facebook declined to comment. Mashable, Comedy Central and Billboard are also reported to be content partners at launch.
