Benjamin Netanyahu says former Palestinian leader to blame for Holocaust

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sparked uproar in Israel on Wednesday for suggesting that a World War II-era Palestinian leader convinced the Nazis to adopt their Final Solution to exterminate European Jews.

Holocaust experts slammed Netanyahu’s comments as historically inaccurate and serving the interests of Holocaust deniers by lessening the responsibility of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Critics also said the statement amounts to incitement against modern-day Palestinians in the midst of a wave of violent unrest and Israeli-Palestinian tensions.

US Airways takes off: A look back at the now former airline

It’s a milestone, seeing a small company [once] called Allegheny finally being part of the world’s largest airline.

On Saturday at 6:18 a.m. local time, the last US Airways flight was scheduled to land in Philadelphia.


The airline’s history dates back to 1939, when All American Aviation got started in the airmail business in Pennsylvania. As of Saturday, that history is now part of American Airlines, which has completed merging US Airways into its business. Read more…
