‘True Detective’ Is in Danger of Missing Its Summer Premiere

LOS ANGELES — True Detective’s Season 2 looming shadow grows.

As we await news on who’ll join Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell for the trek across the dusty California flats, another question burns: When will we see it? With each passing day, the answer gets murkier.

The early word from HBO and producers has been that True Detective will come some time next summer, roughly 18 months after Rust Cohle and Marty Hart wound up in a hospital together in March, following an eight-episode run that began in January.

But the year-and-a-half turnaround for True Detective is already in jeopardyAt this rate, Season 2 will have a tough time hitting its “next summer” goal, even if shooting started today. Read more…
