Pope Francis’ 10-day trip to Cuba and the United States kicked off on Saturday, with the Argentine Pope making his first visit to Cuba.

On Sunday, Francis opened his first full day in Cuba by celebrating Mass at Revolution Plaza in Havana. Hundreds of thousands turned out to see him.

Airbnb wants to offer its Cuba listings to more than just U.S. residents

Not even three months after announcing 1,000 listings in Cuba, Airbnb is looking to expand its offerings on the island nation.

The online home-rental service is seeking a license from the U.S. government that would allow for bookings from non-U.S. citizens, according to the company’s chief technology officer Nathan Blecharczyk.

Airbnb was the first major U.S. business to enter the island in five decades.

“We are applying for a special license to accommodate non-Americans who want to travel to Cuba for approved reasons. That’s something that’s in process,” Blecharcyzk told The Associated Press. “Airbnb has the majority of its users outside of the U.S. … I think there is huge potential to market to that audience.” Read more…
