‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ Stars Back The CW Series at Comic-Con With Facebook Mentions


The CW promoted upcoming series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at Comic-Con International: San Diego earlier this month, with help from its cast and the Facebook Mentions application.

The series debuts on the broadcast network next year, and Bree Nguyen, who works on media partnerships, entertainment for the social network, said in a Facebook Media blog post that the trailer for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was viewed more than 2 million times and shared nearly 50,000 times.

The trailer was posted on the series’ page and shared by stars Stephen Amell, Brandon Routh, Candice Patton, Ruth Connell and Katie Cassidy using Mentions, Facebook’s app for public figures.

According to Nguyen, the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow page tallied 22,000 more likes during the release of the trailer and 51,000 overall.

SAN DIEGO — Marvel who?

Warner Bros. more than held up the superhero end of the bargain at Comic-Con on Saturday morning, showing Hall H an extended reel of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which went over so well that half the hall leapt to its feet to applaud and yell “Play it again! Play it again!”

After the panel ended, they did — all 3 minutes and 31 seconds of it — and here’s what we saw:

After his battle with Zod in Man of Steel, Superman is a polarizing figure — not everyone trusts this alien being with the power to level a city. And right off the bat we see a skyscraper being razed by a flaming beam (is that Superman doing that, or someone else?) and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) running toward the billowing cloud as the building falls.
