Visual Maintenance – Always on, Always Connected by WhIsBe

Emerging NYC street artist WhIsBe has teamed up with Social Media Week to visually explore this year’s theme, “The Future of Now: Always on, Always Connected.”

We challenged him to interpret what our shifting relationship to technology looks like from his perspective, armed with the question: are we too connected or not connected enough?

WhIsBe’s 6×8 installation will be on display at SMW NYC’s Campus from February 18-21st, where attendees can see his work in person and explore the same question, not just conceptually or as ideology but as art.

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to bid for the piece through a week-long silent auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to Social Media Week’s selected non-profit charity: water. Be sure to stop by the SMW NYC Campus and be a part of the conversation.

About the artist:
WhIsBe wishes to remain anonymous so he can continue to allow his artwork to be seen without the attachment of any stigmas or judgments by his viewers. It is a personal request from the artist that allows the art to stay in its purest form and lets the audience see it for what it is. For in this day and age, it is most important to the artist that individuals stay close to the expression “To Thine Own Self Be True.”

His work has been featured on many city streets, as well as, the ArtWorks Charity Foundation, the cover of Wallpaper Magazine, Red BullCanvas Cooler Project and was commissioned to build multiple sculptures for Hangout Music Festival.
