US Airways takes off: A look back at the now former airline

It’s a milestone, seeing a small company [once] called Allegheny finally being part of the world’s largest airline.

On Saturday at 6:18 a.m. local time, the last US Airways flight was scheduled to land in Philadelphia.


The airline’s history dates back to 1939, when All American Aviation got started in the airmail business in Pennsylvania. As of Saturday, that history is now part of American Airlines, which has completed merging US Airways into its business. Read more…
