Any entrepreneur will tell you that a good pitch is an essential ingredient for the success of a startup. Giving a successful pitch, however, is no easy feat—you have to be able to explain the problem that you are going to solve and how you’ll solve it in a very short amount of time, before you lose the attention of your audience.

Once a year, a handful of promising startups—48 out of over 500 applicants—get to participate in the SXSW Accelerator pitch competition, putting them in front of a panel of potential investors and future customers.
