A new public service announcement from the Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion (CIDI) reminds us that the Olympics “have always been a little gay.” Featuring closeups of men preparing to take off on a doubles luge, the spot is a risky yet lighthearted show of support for gay rights during the Olympics in Sochi.
Russia has received much global criticism for its lack of gay rights and anti-gay propaganda leading to the Olympics. Hopefully the dialogue initiated during the Games will start to change the stigma against LGBT people in the country.
