Police in New York are already investigating claims that Stephen Collins may have molested a family friend in Manhattan in the early 1970s. That investigation stemmed from the TMZ video recording in which Collins admitted in couple’s therapy that he exposed himself to at least several children.
Collins’ soon-to-be ex-wife also reported in their messy divorce filings that her husband molested at least several underage girls.
Since news of the Stephen Collins pedophile controversy broke, reruns of 7th Heaven have been pulled from TV, and UPTV recently said it was still deciding if reruns would be removed permanently from the network.
Collins was also fired from roles in the Ted 2 movie and on the ABC series Scandal for which he was set to appear.
In official court documents Grant writes, “Stephen admitted that he has engaged in a long-term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago.”
Despite the taped record of his confession, Collins’ attorney says his clients ex-wife is attempting to file claims in order to gain a more favorable settlement. In response to that statement Grant said, “This is a deeply sad situation for everyone involved. With regard to the divorce proceedings, I am seeking no more than that to which I am legally entitled under the laws of the State of California.”
While Stephen Collins has worked steadily in Hollywood since the 1970s, it appears that his Hollywood career has drawn to a very sudden and disturbing end.
