NBC’s a cappella competition, The Sing-Off, will return for a fifth season, according to EW.
The show, from Sony Pictures Television and Mark Burnett’s One Three Media, will air as a holiday event. Casting is currently in progress.
The number of episodes and air date pattern is unknown at this time. Though, as a reference point, last season aired as a five-night strip. Season four ended with a record low for the franchise, with 5.2 million total viewers and a 1.3 among adults 18-49 when it aired on the day before Christmas Eve last year.
The status of the judges is also unknown. Season four featured returning judges Nick Lachey, Shawn Stockman, and Ben Folds, as well as newcomer Jewel, who replaced Sara Bareilles, but it is unclear if they will return. Who do you want to see judge the competition series?
