Liam Payne of the band One Direction was recently criticized for his “less than toned physique.” An article written by Daily Mail noted how toned his abs were less than a year ago but now said that the “party lifestyle might be taking it’s toll…as he revealed his not-so-toned torso.” He was getting in some last-minute relaxing with his girlfriend and friends on a yacht before One Direction kicked off their latest tour.
Obviously Payne was not too happy with the comments being made and decided to respond with a bit of fun.
He respond with humor on Instagram with this photo, putting the caption “I mean OH MY GOD I’m just so fat these days I think I need help! quick someone take the cookie jar.”
Later, he added this as well. He took to calculating his own BMI and posted the screenshot of his result, adding “Now just because I’m sick of seeing this everyday so I just want to clear up what the media do to people these days. Is it wrong to be normal?…”

He is not the only celebrity in recent months to be mocked for their “less than toned” appearance. Others include Taylor Lautner who was ridiculed by TMZ, writing, “Has anyone seen my six-pack?” In the article, Lautner is in a side-by-side picture–one while he was filming for one of the “Twilight” movies and the other shows him at the beach. His apparent “not-so-toned torso” is anything but–he still looks healthy, despite not having full out six-pack abs. Recently, Leonardo DiCaprio has also been called out for his weight and unkempt appearance. The Hollywood Gossip called him “The Great Gutsby” and even referred to him by his new “nickname,” “Leolardo DiFlabrio.”
Some celebrities might have lost a bit of their six-pack or aren’t as toned as they used to be but usually are by no means completely letting themselves go.
Toned or not–are calling out celebrities in this situation the way to go?
