While teleportation may sound futuristic, employees already use similar methods to communicate with their workplaces.
An infographic from TopManagementDegrees.com illustrates what the workplace of the future will look like, as well as how far we’ve already come.
For example, between 2005 and 2012, the amount of people who telecommuted increased nearly 80 percent.
Additionally, many offices are beginning to focus on telepresence, which is when employees call in to the office via webcam and communicate with each other. HSBC has already saved $ 604,000 by allowing employees to use this technology.
The graphic also discusses what futuristic workplaces will look like for those in an office. It predicts that more and more offices are moving toward open floor plans, as well as more sustainable practices.
