It’s officially summer here at Storify, and the stories we saw this week certainly turned up the heat in quite a few ways. Here’s a sampling of what we saw on Storify:
Protests in Brazil
Tensions are running high in Brazil. Early this week, countless protesters took to the streets in Rio de Janeiro in a demonstration against government policies. The Wall Street Journal’s Storify story provided more insight into the crowd’s demands as well as some stunning social media:

Paula Deen fired
After revealing in a deposition that she previously used racial slurs, Paula Deen saw a social media erupt with a firestorm of discussion and disgust, resulting in multiple public apologies and her eventual release by the Food Network.

A Championship for the Heat
The NBA Finals came to a close this week in a thrilling Game 7 conclusion. Congratulations to the Miami Heat, who defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win their second championship in a row.

And finally, the world was shocked and saddened to learn of actor James Gandolfini’s death this week. We saw an incredible amount of touching stories remembering and recounting the impact the New Jersey native had on the acting world, including tweets from Governor Chris Christie:
