Auto Review: 2015 Kia Sorento SX Crossover

Auto Review 2015 Kia Sorento SX Crossover

Disclosure: I was loaned this vehicle in exchange for my social influence and honest review. The opinions in this review belong to me and are not indicative of the companies or brands mentioned.

Over the last year, I have become a huge fan of Kia Motors. I’ve had the pleasure of driving Kia vehicles for review purposes, and they never disappoint. Recently during a trip to the Washington, D.C. area, I was given the 2015 Kia Sorento SX Crossover to test out and write about. Last autumn, I drove the 2014 Kia Sorento, so I was anxious to see how the new one compared to its predecessor.

I love crossovers, as they fuse a sedan, wagon, and SUV into one vehicle. The 2015 Kia Sorento SX packs a punch. It is super roomy without being big and bulky and despite its size, is good on gas. I rode around Maryland and D.C. on one tank of gas—and let me tell you, miles upon miles were put on this vehicle during my visit.

The Sorento also handles really well. There are other vehicles in the same class as the Sorento that don’t maneuver quite as well, or are difficult to drive. Not the 2015 Kia Sorento. It’s a pleasure to use.

What I liked most about the Kia Sorento is the UVO Infotainment System, which comes in most Kia vehicles. It fuses technology with the car so you can utilize your smartphone hands-free and safely. UVO gives directions including turn-by-turn instructions, lets you search for places of interest, and allows you to use Pandora and a plethora of other apps that you have on your phone. If you read my last Kia Sorento review, you know that is a feature that I loved in that version as well. This one seems to be a little more intuitive and the voice command was better as I didn’t have to keep repeating myself when using it—it understood me on the first try. There was also no lag in the navigation as I experienced in the 2014 Kia Sorento.

Safety is something that you will see comes first with the 2015 Kia Sorento SX. It comes with Blind Spot Detection (which in a busy area like D.C. is a must!), Back Up Warning System, supplemental restrain system, Power Folding Outside Mirrors, and Rear Camera Display. This is a car that was created for people with busy lifestyles. If you have a family or travel solo, this vehicle has everything you need to feel safe on the road while on the go.

The 2015 Kia Sorento SX is also pretty snazzy. It has a heated, wrapped steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, Infinity Audio System, and more. It definitely is the type of crossover that makes you look like a baller without spending that baller dough.

I tried to find one thing not to like about this car and I couldn’t. I loved everything about it!

The MSRP for the model I reviewed is around $ 36,700.
