The summer sun has gradually faded and most of us are settling back in from summer trips and adapting to cooler temperatures. In the coming months it is likely that we’ll be spending more time indoors seeking warmth and comfort from our surroundings. Just because the weather is slightly dreary, this doesn’t have to mean that our homes should be too. Below are my 5 simple interior tips for revamping your home for autumn and transitioning through to the winter season.
1) Incorporate colour
The latter months of the year boast a gorgeous palette of colours ranging from natural sage greens, copper toned auburns to rich burgundies and deep browns. These colours can easily be incorporated into your home through small finishing touches such as colourful textured cushions, cosy blankets or throws. In a bedroom setting, try changing your linen to a seasonal shade. This will be sure to alter the mood and bring about that snug feeling.
