The Undertaker was on his death bed this past weekend, at least that’s what internet users wanted WWE fans to believe. The rumor started after Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst dedicated his song “The Phenom” to the famed wrestler.
The rumor of The Undertaker’s health troubles spread so fast that his wife, Michelle McCool, was forced to debunk the rumor on Instagram. On her page she writes:
“Sadly, there’s always rumors about my hubby! Apparently he’s now super sick and not doing well! While we always appreciate thoughts & prayers, we are ALL GOOD IN THE HOOD! Headed to a #cc4c dinner! Don’t forget we will both be at the hill country galleria (Austin, tx) this Sunday for the CC4C micro marathon! Come join the fun, register early online & come run for our champions!”
That Instagram caption includes the following picture:
Another rumor has suggested that The Undertaker is 100 percent done with the WWE. His wife has been posting more of his pictures than normal on social media profiles, which led to the secondary rumor.

World Wrestling Entertainment is a bastion for crazy and often untrue rumors. However, it is also a young man’s sport because of injuries that only compound as wrestler’s age. On the reality TV show Hogan Knows Best, fans were treated first hand to the type of obstacles an aging wrestler faces. Hulk Hogan has undergone numerous hip and other surgeries just to stay in the ring.
The Undertaker health rumors might be overblown lies, but ultimately he is a 49-year-old wrestler and he isn’t getting any older. With that being said, he could be another Hulk Hogan type warrior, wrestling into his sixties, while nursing worsening injuries in his never ending pursuit for another championship belt.
In the meantime, we can put The Undertaker health rumors to bed, at least until the next time he steps in or out of the ring.
