Last May, Prezi celebrated a momentous day marked by a number of important milestones, including our reaching 10 million users. Now, just ten months later, Prezi has a new milestone to mark, as we’ve surpassed the 20 million user mark. This just so happens to coincide with a particularly exciting new feature: audio capabilities in Prezi. When Julie Bort of Business Insider said that Prezi was on its way to “becoming the de facto alternative to a boring PowerPoint presentation,” perhaps she was right.
In an era when your fridge and even your eyeglasses are connected to the worldwide web, more and more the sharing of ideas happens without the storyteller being present to narrate the story. So it’s not surprising that adding sound capabilities to Prezi was one of the most frequent requests from our users. Well, we were listening, and our engineering team was committed to fulfilling this wish. With background music and voiceover options now available in Prezi, the stories that users share online and on-the-go can be even more complex and captivating.
