Over on Flickr, Ahmad is pumped for Firewatch, an upcoming game that promises to be amazing. His desktop gives us sunset from a beautifully high vantage point—but it also helps him launch apps and check his system status. Here’s how he set it up.
We can think of worse ways to wait for the release of what looks to be a great new game than by dedicating your desktop to it (remember the Destiny desktop?)
This desktop, dedicated to Firewatch, an upcoming indie game from Campo Santo, takes some art from the promos and transforms it into a fine HUD you can sit down at and instantly see what’s going on, or one where you can quickly minimize to see system status or what’s playing—but also one that doesn’t get in the way when it’s windows up and time to work. Here’s what you’ll need to make it your own:
That’s all there is to this one, and all of the pieces look like they fit together really well. If you have trouble setting it up, or have questions, head to Ahmad’s Flickr page (linked below) to ask how he made it all work—and let him know we sent you!
Do you have a good-looking, functional desktop of your own to show off? Share it with us! Post it to your personal Kinja blog using the tag Desktop Showcase or add it to our Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr pool. Screenshots must be at least at least 640×360 and please include information about what you used, links to your wallpaper, skins, and themes, and any other relevant details. If your awesome desktop catches our eye, you might get featured!
