Android: On the surface, SendIt Pro looks like just another app that duplicates Android’s “Share” feature. What SendIt is really good at though is sending files quickly through apps that normally don’t support them. That includes things like videos and photos, something that Google Voice traditionally has trouble with.
When we first looked at SendIt Pro not too long ago, it wasn’t terribly interesting: You get a “SendIt” button in any app that lets you share any file through SendIt Pro. The file—whether it’s an apk, a photo, a video, or URL, whatever, gets uploaded to SendIt and a short URL is dropped in your clipboard. From here you can paste the URL yourself, you can choose a contact from your contacts list to SMS the link to, or you can share via an app already on your phone.
The first two options are what they sound like—you upload a file to your cloud storage account (Google Drive is the default, but Dropbox is also supported) and you get its public URL to share. SendIt just makes this process faster, and does it in one tap. The third option is where the app really shines. By tapping “Send Via,” you can choose almost any app on your device to use to send your message and your short URL. That means if you use Google Voice as a replacement for SMS (SendIt Pro supports sending right from your Google Voice number) or have another preferred text replacement like WhatsApp, you can quickly send huge photos, videos, or other files without passing those files through that service. You’ll never have to deal with file size limitations or message size restrictions again.
SendIt comes in two flavors, free and pro. Most of the features here, like unlimited file sizes and sending directly via your Google Voice number, require the pro version of the app, which will set you back $ 3. If you want to try it before you buy it, hit this link to get the free version first.
