The fashion industry has become quite adept at using social media to engage the fans. With #NYFW winding down, it’s time to take a look at the breakdown of fashion week’s social media takeover. This year, Curalate was the official social analytics provider for the fashion week runway rundown.
There were more than 100,000 images shared and more than 10 million engagements, which includes both comments and likes. That’s 25 percent more images and more than a 100 percent increase in fashion week social engagements. There were also 44,000 unique Instagram users, who shared images using one of the six fashion week hashtags.
Some of the most popular hashtags included #fashion, #nyc, #ss15, #style and #newyork. Ellen Degeneres shared the most popular fashion week image, which received more than 200,000 Instagram likes and more than 3,000 comments.
