With less than a month until Christmas, it’s about time you started thinking about how much to budget for shiny new social media apps next year.
Whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, these apps could be just what you need to make 2014 the best virtual year ever!
Social media management and analytics
For Twitter excellence, there’s SocialBro — which helps you to analyze your followers and competitors, find the best times to tweet, and figure out what’s working for your brand. If you want a better understanding of who you’re engaging with and the impact of your content, SocialBro could be for you. Prices start at $ 13.95/month.
Or you can upgrade your Hootsuite plan to Pro for $ 9.99/month. This is perfect if your online presence has outgrown the Free plan. Scheduled posts, better analytics, a free team member (so you can hire that intern) and unlimited RSS feeds. You get a free 30-day trial, too.
Online is made SO much better with contests and Woobox, Offerpop and Wildfire are some solid options here. Prices vary drastically depending on the number of fans you have and the services you require, but if running contests is a big part of your social media strategy, it’s well worth looking into.
For those of you with a little more money (and time) to play with, there’s Radian6 and Shoutlet for sentiment analysis. If you’re just starting out, they probably aren’t for you, but larger brands in particular can really benefit from advanced sentiment-analysis tools. You do need to know how to use them, though. So budget a new hire into that wish list as well.
Okay, so this might be the social media marketing equivalent of asking Santa for a pony, because content curation is THAT important and an app that streamlines this process can REALLY make your life easier – and supercharge your online presence.
And finally – there’s just one more tiny thing you might want on your Christmas list — the gift of time to actually use all this stuff.
