Facebook Opens Office In Jakarta, Indonesia

Jakarta650There are some 65 million monthly active users in Indonesia, placing it at No. 4 on Facebook’s list of countries ranked by MAUs, so it comes as little surprise that the social network opened its newest branch office in the country’s capital city of Jakarta.

The Jakarta Post reported that Facebook’s new branch office is located in the Pacific Place building in the Sudirman Central Business District of South Jakarta.

Facebook Head of Global Marketing Solutions, Asia-Pacific Dan Neary told the Post:

Setting up an office here will allow us to work closer with some of the biggest advertisers, the advertising agencies, and SMEs (small and midsized enterprises) that need an education on how to market their products.

We have 65 million users in Indonesia — that’s 90 percent of everybody that’s online. We’re also focusing on the 80 percent of Indonesians who are still not connected, and so there are a lot of opportunities for us to collaborate with the government and public sector.
