Cloud-Based Music Platform Splice Opens to All Musicians




Splice, the cloud-based platform for music creation, has raised $ 4.5 million in Series A funding. It has also moved from private beta to open beta, which means all musicians can now use the platform, the company announced Wednesday.

The round was led by True Ventures with participation from Scooter Braun, Tiësto, Steve Angello and AM Only. Created by GroupMe co-founder Steve Martocci, Splice has been dubbed the GitHub for musicians because it lets artists collaborate on music creation despite geographic boundaries.
